  • When painting ceilings and some walls flat works great. Apply flat or matte finish paints to low traffic areas.

  • Using semi gloss paint on trims and molding can add a touch of upscale living.

  • A satin finish is desirable to hide imperfections. Satin can also be used on molding and trims.

  • If you are looking for easy to clean, durable paint, select high gloss and semi gloss finish.

  • Consider the use of each room. For a kitchen, bathroom, kids’ room, and family room, you might want to up the quality of the paint and use washable paint.

  • Eggshell finish is perfect for low traffic areas when you want a soft look.

  • Keep in mind that paint with sheen can up the cost per gallon a dollar or two, depending on the scale of sheen.
